Mile Sur Mera Tumhara ,a song on national integration aired on Doordarshan on Aug 15,1988,was recreated by Zoom with a new set of artists,called Phir Mile Sur Mera Tumhara,was aired yest on the eve of republic day....

Loved to see Mahesh Babu in this one :) But somehow i liked the old version .....

A Kannadiga in Avatar :)

The only actor of Indian origin in Avatar movie ,Dileep Rao ,is incidentally a Kannadiga who has played the role of Dr.Max Patel. Born and brought up in the US,he has chosen acting as his career .Also his other movies include  "Drag Me To Hell".

Pakistan's imprudence.......

With not even a single Pakistani player  been auctioned at the IPL auction,the Pakistan govt has taken it  personally and thinks the Indian govt is trying to offend it by sidelining its players....Y are they not mature enough to understand that the Govt of India is not any way connected to IPL !!!

Internet roumor...

Recently when i got a message from a friend about Indian National Anthem being awarded the "Best National Anthem " in the world ,by UNESCO , I was thrilled !!! Before forwarding to others,I thought i ll ascertain the facts .....

         Many websites claimed that Indian National Anthem is the best in the world while some said its an Internet rumor.... But when i searched UNESCO site,sadly ,there was no such announcement....

So i guess its a rumor.... :(

Recently there has been a message doing rounds saying Uninor is a Pakistani Company and asking people not to use its services.But the fact is that Uninor is a joint venture of Norwegian telecom giant Telenor (67.25%of shares)and India's Unitech(32.75%) .

The Proud Indian National Flag

Wonder where do they weave the national flag in India???

The only place where the hand woven national flag of india is made

is in a small city called Garag in Dharwad district in Karnataka.The Khadi used for it is got from Dharwad and Bagalokote districts. Once the kadhi is woven,it is sent for quality tests to BIS and once it is passed,it is sent back to the factory and the dyeing is done.

One of the movie revolves around this city and ambiance of patriotism is "Veerappa Nayaka"which stars Vishnuvardhan and Shruthi.
