A Tribute to C Ashwath(29 Dec 1938-29 Dec 2009)

A very talented music director,composer,and a singer who composed music for very famous kannada movies like mysuru mallige,matadana and very famous mega serial mukta mukta,manvantara..... Also his favourite compositions are the songs from santa shishunala sharifa.His contribution for Sugama Sangeeta is immense. Negila yogiya nodalli is one of his most famous songs which talks about the farmer.

The people of karnataka will surely miss this music talent.

Starry Birthdays and the inconvenience caused

Yesterday being Christmas ,it was our former CM Dharam Singh's 73 rd birthday.He apparently celebrated his bday in Tirupati and in the night came back to Bangalore .And there was a big bday party here in his house with many supporters coming in buses,High profile people in cars from many different places and the road which connects R T Nagar and Mekhri Circle was all blocked .There was cracker bursting also(disturbing the people around and causing inconvenience).His house was decorated with lights as if there was some marriage(see the picture).I guess lakhs of rupees would be spent for the celebrations.
Though he has won from Jevargi constituency 8 consecutive times ,there is no trace of development .
Must have also read in the paper about a man who was serious died on the road as the road was blocked because of the PM Manmohan Singh's visit.And such people are popularly called ajatha shatru,People's leader ....Wat an irony!!!

Divorce Tourism!!!!!!

There are many tourism packages like piligrimage,honeymoons,rural tourism,etc etc....Of late many Indian Tours and Travels have introduced a new concept of Divorce Tourism for the couples whose marriage is on rocks!!!! This concept is new in India although it is prevelant in Western countries.The tours and Travels who arrange this tour packages claim to bring a compromise and understanding between the couples and help them overcome the catastrophe .
In India,the divorce rate is around 1.1% according to the latest survey which is considered to be very minimal as compared to the western countries.But what is alarming is that this rate is increasing due to urbanization,economical independence of women,and influence of the western culture in India.The irony is that many people in western countries are embrasing our Indian culture,while it is being estranged by us.
Instead of shelling down some 35-40K on these Divorce Tours,let people be prudent enough to sort out the issues between them by keeping aside their egos and lead a life happily ever after,as divorce is not the only solution......

Small Wonder Nano!!

A revolution in the Auotomobile industry,Tata's little wonder Nano has been acclaimed to be the first Indian Car to be displayed in the coveted National Design Museum ,New York from Feb 18 through April 25 next year.
It is also acclaimed to be the most affordable car whose top end variant :LX comes up for about 2 lacs .This little wonder being the cheapest car doesnt compromise on any of the quality standards is a good news,also gives an economical mileage of 18.5 and a succesful venture
by Tata Motors.Now the latest news is that it has been awarded the Car of the Year 2009 by ZigWheels.

When Ratan Tata announced this affordable car venture ,there was skeptism about it .But Tata Group being a "leardership with trust" has succesfully rolled out this adventurous venture and got acclaims world over.

Though there are repots of some 2-3 Nano cars having short circuits,Tata has come out to their help by replacing those cars with new ones and also decided to introspect the design of the car to bring improvements.
Kudos to Tata for this wonderful car!!!!!!!!!

Pranav Mistry's Sixth Sense Wearable device

Progeria

Most of us would have already watched "PAA"and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".....So got an opportunity to talk about Progeria disease which Amitabh Bacchan (Auro) and Brad Pitt respectively suffer from.
Progeria comes from Greek .Pro means 'before' and geria means 'old age'.It is a disease which is caused by mutation and most doctors around the world feel it is not hereditary.It is a rare disease where approximately 1 child is affected in every 4-8 million newborns.
Children suffering from Progeria are born normal but after some months ie 10 to 24 months,they start showing the signs of aging like loss of hair,loss of body fat,halted growth......
The average life span of progeria patients is 13 years (8-21 years).Most progeria patients die of progressive heart disease.Sadly there is no effective treatment for Progeria though many researches are still happening.

Mangalore Trip (13 th NOV to 15 th NOV 2009)

THE PLACE WHERE I HAD MISSED THE TRAIN IN WESTERN GHATS!!!!!!!

It was 13 th November,morning 7:40 that our morning train to Mangalore started.My neighbours ,an uncle n aunt (who were supposed to attend their son Sagar's convocation )  boarded the train in Tumkur.Then near Arasikere ,i got down n took some pics in the station.As we passed Sakalashpura,the Ghat section started and it was an amazing view.The lush greenery everywhere mesmerized me.The train started going at the speed of 20 or 30 Km as we were going the acclivity.As we went a little up,we could see the small streams running with water so pure and milky white.In front of nature's beauty and grandeur, man is such an insignificant thing!!But still he is conceited to think he can tame and control the nature...

The colossal mountains stood so tall that they almost seemed to touch the sky...In some places the mountains are carved and tunnels are made for the passage of the train..Hmm...a splendid ,unprecedented experience for me...All small kids enthusiastically started shouting as soon as the train went under a tunnel in the dark.We came across more than 45 such tunnels...and each tunnel was a length of 500 m in an average...

The train used to temporarily stop in some places and again start ,dono the reason though.In one such place ,wen many ppl started getting ,I also got down to take some pics.As i was stil taking the photos,the train suddenly started....Then Ppl started getting into the train.I managed to giv my camera to some guy but couldn't get into the moving train .... A horrifying experience,especially since it was not a station and moreover Western Ghats without anyone around!!!Then i started shouting asking ppl to pull the chain and started running behind the moving train...Luckily ,a guard who was in the last bogie showing a green flag saw me !!By den my dad had pulled the chain and finally the train came to a halt!!! Uff i was saved!!!! As i got into the train ,ppl started shouting aloud seeing me ,gossiping ...wat not...Many aunts stated giving gyan also on how girls should behave and not do such things .The train stopped for more than half an hour after i got into train coz we had pulled the train's chain and they had to fill the gas.......

Then on i jus sat in my place and dint get down the train :P .After reaching Subramanya,the ghat section ended and then the train picked up its usual speed and we reached Mangalore around 6:30 ...Half an hour late courtesy me :P........Then we reached the IB where we stayed and had dinner and slept...

On 14th,got up early and went to Katilu Temple,Penambur Beach,Mangaladevi Temple,Sri Gokarna Natheshwara Temple,Kadri Temple .In Penambur Beach,a song shoot for the movie "Vichithra Premi "was happening and got to see the cute actress dancing on the orange jeep and a very weird looking hero(very disappointing) . Had lunch in the same hotel and took some rest and headed off to Summer sand Beach in the evening.It started drizzlling in the evening near the beach and the billowing nature of the sea stopped us from getting into the beach.We jus sat there in the shore spent some time and went to Sri Gokarna Natheshwara Temple again to see the lighting in the evening. There was musical fountain and it was a very refreshing experience.

On 15 th morning,went to Udupi Srikrishna Temple and from there to Malpe Beach and waited til 10 for the Ferry to St.Mary's Island.It took half an hour to reach that island.The Island was very new experience for us and enjoyed a lot .But it is more fun to go with friends....Met tat aunt and uncle ,my neighbours in the train in St.Mary's Island but this time with their son...Then went back to Mangalore and took the train to bangalore at around 8 and reached blore around 8 in the morning and had to rush to office...

TRIP TO KERALA AND TN

After a rather boring day in office,i left for home at 2:30 .....got ready n left for the railway station at around 5:15....my train was at 6:50 .....slowly ppl started coming .....den wen everyone gathered it was almost 6:50!!!Finally my weeks long wait came to an end :) the train started.......We started taking pics, played many games,had dinner wat sneha's mom n my mom had packed....den we slept at around 10....
Morning i got up at 6:30 wen both shashi n nabeel had gottten up n talking......den we got fresh and again had same chapatis wat sneha had got!!!!but the chatni pudi got over very soon!!!!somehow we managed to eat the chapatis alone!!!we reached TVM at 12:15 or so....Nabeel went home directly n rest of us walked till Hotel Thamburu International and checked in which apparently had been booked by Parvati's dad. Got ready by 2 and went 4 lunch to Ariya Nivas nearby where we had to wait 4 30 min to get d food!!!! Since 5 of dem took full meals,we 9 shared wit dem!!!!!the guy who was serving ,was simply smiling at us!!!!Then we went to Kovalam Beach in the bus whr Nabeel joined us....coulndnt have much fun this time as compared to last time as it was raining n many of dem insisted on going to the Light House....so most of us went to the Light House only to find it locked :( Den we left the beach around 7 did some shopping.....some ppl went to the hotel directly n shashi,meenaksi,chaithanya,nabeel n myself went to Hotel Amrutha whr shashi n myself uself used to have dinner during our ILP....Had dinner der,took some photos wit the ppl we knew and den decided to go for the night show of Azab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.....I had never been to a night show with friends!!!!wat fun we had!!!!after d movie got over at 12 or so ,we walked back to our hotel...
7 th morning we got up early n went to Anatha Padmanabha Swamy temple .....dis was my 4th visit to the temple but had a bad experience dis time :(
We were supposed to wear mundu to enter the temple....i wore a white duppata .....but d temple guys didnt allow me to enter the temple ..dey insisted me to to rent d mundu !! i resisted but in vain...had an argument but my friends pacified me and i had to go rent it :( Exploitation has come down even to d temples is the irony !!!!! After d temple visit we went back to hotel n got ready 4 Parvati's marriage...Sneha n Minakshi helped me tie the saree :)Shashi got jasmine flowers for me n sneha as we were wearing saree !!! den we headed to Alakapuri Auditorium where the marriage was held...This was a very new experience !!!I had never been to a Malyali's marriage!!!The stage decoration was very good and very traditional...Renjith was a bit nervous i guess but Parvati seemed very happy ....dey made such a nice couple!!!!as soon as the marriage got over,we headed 4 lunch...it was a sumptous meal!!!!very different and traditional....after lunch we changed in d hotel n left 4 Kanyakumari.....Archana went to her native.

We took a bus till Nagarcoil n 4m der we took a Sumo till Kanyakumari to reach der by 6....This was my 3 rd visit to Kanyakumari and i am very fortunate to have a different experience each time there :) .This time we reached ,it was almost getting dark..went to d temple der .shashi,Arun,Meenakshi n me sat 4 an hour or so looking at the sea ,its waves risind and receding until others finished der shopping....It was very very romantic i guess!!!Thought i should hav gone with someone special:P .....later we also did some shopping til almost 8:30 n had dinner in some Dhaba n left the place at 9 to Thiruvanelli ...it was a long drive....It seems der are some 5000 wind mills on the way to Thiruvanelli but we could see only the silhouettes of Windmills as it was already dark :( Reached Thiruvanelli at 11 n went to Ramraj's house to sleep....wat a house tat was!!!huge nice house :)

The following morning ,we had nice Tamil special breakfast (Idly,Vada,Pongal) and went to tiger reserve where a dam also was der in a cab.....It was a very nice,romantic weather ...nice landscape....weather also was very nice...drizzling and very cool!!Driving through the beautiful landscape,we made sure to stop by in some places to take the photos of the grandeur scenic beauty. We spent some time der n on the way back we saw a rivulet flowing...so decided to hav lunch der!!!it was such a nice ,refreshing experience!!!!Then we went to Agasthya Falls where the guys spent some time taking bath in the falls and then we headed to some river.....Hmmm we had such nice time in the water!!!!got almost wet .....n it started raining also...so we decided to leave.Reached Ramraj,s house n changed n got ready 4 our bus to blore at 6:15 ....ramraj bought sweets 4 all of us......den we left his place at aound 5:15....We met with Nabeel in d same bus....He only had brought dinner 4 us ....awesome mutter butter masala!!n we went to sleep very soon after a very tiring day!!
On 9 th we reached Blore around 6 ...Most of us got down in Silk Board n i took a bus to Hebbal 4m whr my dad came n picked me up!!! I reached home at around 7:15 n though i was sleepy ,had to gt ready n come to the boring ofiz!!!

How i wish i could have been on a longer holiday!!!3 days just went very soon!!!!Hmm it was a very unprecedented holiday in my life with my friends!!!!!Most of the the places i have travelled is with my parents.....this was a very special experience in my life!!!!!How can i forget to mention Shashi's PJs !!! My god almost everyone wanted to murder him for his PJs :P....Missed Hema n Sundaresh who couldnt come along coz of some personal commitments....

Hope i get to travel with my friends very often :)
